History
Before being purchased in 2004 by Jamaican hotelier and businessman Gary “Butch” Hendrickson, the property stood empty for two years following the events of 9/11.  

After a multimillion-dollar renovation including:  room refurbishment, redeveloped common areas, extensive landscaping and newly constructed water park including pools, slides and lazy river, the resort reopened in 2005 as Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa.
